2015 Calgary Stampeders' Head Shots
It is a little late in the CFL season, but in honour of the 2015 Grey Cup, I figured I would make a blog post about some of my work this year featuring The Calgary Stampedes. Even though it is unfortunate that the Stamps will not be playing in this year's championship game, this year will always be special to me. It was the first time in my life I really was able to take in the game of Football. Hockey is still my favourite sport, and aways will be, but I am finding the game of football has a lot of entertainment to offer.
When designing this year's head shots two defining elements were used. One was including the team's marketing creative featuring a "glitch" effect and the other element was utilizing slow-motion. To create the glitch effects I used AE Scripts' TV Distortion Bundle and the SonyFS 700 helped capture the 120 fps slow-motion.

The show motion really helped bring the emotion of the players out. When shooting each player, we asked them be as animated as possible. Below you will a few GIFs showcasing my favourite head shots.
