2018-19 Calgary Hitmen Opening Video

Hitmen Game Director Seth Strankman and I worked together to create this opening video.  He came up with the idea of using illustrated player graphics and I came up with the concept of the players turning from a cartoon to live action.

I provided our illustrator, Medea Leonard, select frames from game highlights.  She would draw them and send them back to me where I would place the illustration in the corresponding video frame.  The concept worked out very well and the transitions are eye catching.  

This opening video features four different videos in one.  The one minute warning, a light show, an animated player graphic montage and the team highlight hype video.   All of the different parts ended up being stitched together for a seamless show open.

My favorite part of this open is the music.  It features modern age remixes of famous tracks from the past.
