Portraits of Stamps

For this years Calgary Stampeders Media Day I worked with Makayla Berze to capture portraits of the players. My idea was to use a wide angle lens and put the players in the corner of the dressing room so the photos would have an extreme distortion feeling to them. Doing this made it so I could shoot the subjects extreamly close but also have a lot of the background still in the shot. This effect helps make their expressions look over exaggerated and almost cartoon like.

The photos were used on the Stampeders social accounts and were all posted at the same time for a full-takeover of people’s social feeds.

Programs: Lightroom Classic

Gear:  Canon EOS R5 + Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L II
