At Calgary Flames home games we run a promotion called Scotiabank C of Red Moments. The idea of the promo is to capture the night's events through photography and then displaying it during a TV timeout near the end of the game in slideshow form.
In past years we would purchase a stock template and tweak it to fit our need, but this year we decided to create a custom designed template from scratch. The song The Nights by Avicii was picked and I created and edited the template to the song. Other then the fire effects you see throughout the video, the entire project was made from scratch.
By far the highlight of working on this project is getting the opportunity to capture the night's events through photography. I have a blast running around the Dome snapping photos of fans, pre-game ceremonies, behind the scenes and action shots. Below you can see a few of my favourite photos from the October 7th Home Opener!
The hardest part about this promotion is the fact we have to take about fifty photos from the night, import them into the project and have the video rendered by the end of the night.
