Check out the Calgary Flames 2015-16 One Minute Warning. My idea for this year's video was to incorporate a gritty, western vibe, to pay tribute to Calgary's western heritage. The video below showcases the one minute warning along with the LED's that play along with it.
My inspiration for the art design came from the video game Red Dead Redemption, my favourite video game to this day. Everything about the game is amazing including the promotion artwork. Originally, I had the idea of collaborating with an artist to illustrate the players, but the decision to use an After Effects plugin saved time and money.
The song chosen was a remix of Ennio Morricone's Ecstasy Of Gold from the movie "The Good the Bad and the Ugly". The idea to use the song came from Metallica's collaboration with it. Before every gig, right before the band steps on the stage, the song is played. If you have ever attended a Metallica concert, you will understand, just how powerful an opening it is. It gives me goosebumps every time I hear the Metallica fans chanting along with the track!
One element I wanted to include was the Calgary Flames Alternate jersey's shoulder patch. I personally think it is a great secondary mark and needs to get more recognition. I really think it does a great job at representing Southern Alberta and the Calgary Flames.
